We're proud to offer high-quality, American-made remanufactured toner cartridges—and we’re just as committed to keeping them out of landfills.

Help us reduce waste and support American jobs by sending your empty toner cartridges and drum units back for responsible recycling and reuse.

Returning your empty cartridges is completely optional. This is a free service we provide to help ensure that used cartridges are recycled properly and don’t end up in landfills.

What We Accept

• Empty toner cartridges purchased from NorthStar Toner
• Original OEM (brand-name) toner cartridges
• Original OEM drum units

These items can often be remanufactured and reused—reducing waste and supporting American manufacturing jobs.

What We Do NOT Accept

• Inkjet cartridges
• Toner tubes
• Generic compatible cartridges (non-remanufactured, typically imported)

How to Send Back Items

• Send them anytime: If you’d like to ship empties at your own cost, please contact us for the return address.
• Want us to cover shipping? Collect six or more qualifying items (cartridges or drum units) in one box, and we’ll email you a prepaid return label.
• Please bulk pack: Grouping returns helps reduce environmental impact and keeps the program sustainable.

Important: Prepaid return labels are available for qualifying empties only. Qualifying items include toner cartridges or drum units purchased from NorthStar Toner, or original OEM cartridges and drum units.

Inkjet cartridges, generic compatibles, toner tubes, and non-qualifying items are not eligible. If ineligible items are returned, we reserve the right to recycle them responsibly without reimbursement or replacement. Thank you for helping us keep our recycling program sustainable!
